Mobility is essential for businesses and workforces across Australia. Organisations need to provide the tools and support necessary for employees to do their jobs effectively from anywhere, at anytime.
According to a 2014 report from Accenture, Australian firms recognise the importance of mobility, with one-quarter of businesses claiming they are looking to spend at least 26 per cent of their IT budget in this area.
The ability to create and send reports is where the Smart Probes App can provide significant additional value.
Refrigeration, air conditioning and heating companies are no exception. Technicians must be able to perform a range of measuring tasks on-site and be confident that the information can be recorded in a central location that they and other colleagues can access whenever needed.
This is why Testo designed the Smart Probes App, which can help you or your staff deliver results with greater speed, convenience and precision.
How the app works
The app is free on both iOS and Android platforms, is quick and easy to master. Connecting a smart probe simply requires you to open the app and turn on the measuring instrument.
You will know the app and the tool are linked when the instrument's LED flashes green. Within the software, you'll see all connected tools along with their serial numbers, which you can match with the digits on the rear of each instrument.
Once measurements are taken, you can view them in the app in three ways: list, graphic curve and table. A variety of application-specific menus are available, which you can then integrate and organise into a favourites list.
But the Smart Probes App doesn't just collate and store your measurement data, you can also use the software to create personalised reports.

Generating and sending reports
The ability to create and send reports is where the Smart Probes App can provide significant additional value. To take advantage of this functionality, click on the share icon within the app and select your preferred format.
These include PDFs and Excel files, with PDFs enabling you to add your own company data. You can input this information manually or import it from your mobile device's address book.
The app also allows you to add job numbers, comments, images and other information to ensure your reports are as detailed and flexible as possible.
Hopefully, this quick guide has provided you with the basics on how to use the Smart Probes App to optimise technicians' performance, but for more information, please get in touch with our team today.
